Iguana at San Gervasio

Temazcal

The Temazcal

MAGICAL - MYSTICAL – CULTURAL - EXPERIENCE

Come and experience ancient Mesoamerican tradition. Visit the ruins of San Gervasio; continue the journey with a Trek of silence. Finally you will arrive at Villa Maya for the ceremony of Temazcal. The ceremony will be led by a guide knowledgeable in ancient philosophy and Indo-American cultures. The journey will leave you with a sense of the past and a new respect and love for nature.

Temazcal consists of a steam bath with spices to purify the body, mind, spirit, and especially the soul.

Come, see, and enjoy the experience of ancient tradition, culture, health and knowledge.

BENEFITS OF TEMAZCAL

Without being a “magic solution” for everything, Temazcal is - no doubt - a “Powerful Medicine" for the treatment of many chronic diseases.

It stimulates internal organs, improves the immune system, cleans and decongests airways. It is effective in relieving chronic problems such as stress, fatigue, insomnia, and nervous tension. It restores balance to the hormonal system, and relieves muscle cramps, and chronic joint pain.

Things to know before you go:

  • -Bring your Towel and bathing suit.
  • -You cannot bring metal objects, rings, necklaces, wrist watches, etc, inside Temazcal.
  • -Be well hydrated before arrival. We recommend you consume a minimum of 2 liters of water before the ceremony.
  • -Reservations are a must. Capacity for Temazcal is limited.
